The marine highway of the St. Lawrence River has introduced visitors to the Thousand Islands for centuries. Many travelers recorded impressions. In 1880 Franklin B. Hough published a compilation. This early book and other regional literature appears in the bibliography provided by Paul Malo in Fools' Paradise, the second volume of his historical trilogy. We feature some current publications.
