The author and photographer has the advantage of spending summers on a Canadian island. Because he moors his airplane there as well as his boats, Ian has been able to picture the Thousand Islands from the air and water under widely varied conditions of season and time of day. |

Ian's first book, reprinted many times, continues to be phenomenally popular. The 1000 Islands, smaller in format than his subsequent publication, appeals to tourists because of its accessible price and convenient size. The quality of the photographs and their presentation in a fine binding account for the remarkable success of the book. |

Ian's first book was an overview of familiar landmarks, amply informing the visitor about the region. His second is more an artistic celebration of its beauty. Prints from Water, Wind and Sky have been shown at the Brockville Arts Center and in seasonally changing exhibitions of Ian's work the Antique Boat Museum, Clayton. His photographs have been reproduced internationally. Ian has shared his intimate views of the Thousand Islands so far as Paris, where they appeared in the national journal, Le Figaro. Ian was elected from photographers around the world as an “Image Master” by DxO Labs, a Paris based company that produces software for professional photographers. |

When Ian's first book, The 1000 Islands, sold out and required a fourth printing, he decided to replace it. Now an entirely new book with new photographs completes a trilogy. It mirrors the format of the first volume, but has a subtly different title – The Thousand Islands.
Like the book it replaces, The Thousand Islands features two maps that locate every photo in the book as well as the important museums and places of interest, so it serves as a guide while visiting and a quality book for the coffee table when back home.
