Ivy Lea, more a hamlet than village, is the focus of a sector of the river where an array of cottages and boating facilities extends along the north shore.

Smuggler's Run (above) was previously the Mount Airy Hotel until a fire during the 1980s damaged the upper stories, which were removed. Tour boats still leave from the dock here.
Photographer unidentified. Because of Ivy Lea's splendid situation, several fine marinas developed nearby, as did hotels and motels. Mulcaster Island (St. Lawrence Islands National Park) provides camping as do as do another public and two private campgrounds. Boat tours depart from the hamlet of Ivy Lea. Varied channels nearby invite exploration.

Thousand Islands International Bridge, Ivy Lea. Photographer unidentified.
Ivy Lea is convenient to the Thousand Islands International Bridge. The Thousand Islands Parkway provides a twenty-eight mile bicycle path as well as scenic automobile access to popular destinations, particularly nearby Gananoque and Rockport, while the 401 highway makes larger cities of Kingston and Brockville readily accessible.
